WWE Fastlane 2017: 4 Missed Opportunities

1. Holding Off on Charlotte’s PPV Streak Ending
Let’s get this out of the way first. The ending to the Bayley vs. Charlotte match could lead to an angle where the loss is taken off the latter’s record, preserving her PPV streak. However, even if that’s tried, nothing can save what happened at Fastlane.
Ending a hyped up streak like Charlotte’s at PPV’s seemed like a match made in heaven with WrestleMania — the big stage to end something that was made to seem important. Ending it at Fastlane with a developing heel in Sasha Banks aiding her tunnel-visioned friend, Bayley, though?
Sure, not every moment is going to be saved for WrestleMania. Other shows need to be sold too, like Raw and Fastlane. However, the latter took place 28 days before the biggest show of the year. If WWE could have held out for just four more weeks, the moment had a chance of feeling bigger, which would have included Charlotte winning the Raw Women’s Championship on Sunday night.
At WrestleMania, Bayley could have then won the title back without any help and cleanly pinned Charlotte. It would have had the opportunity to make her win look better and not like it has been, with her not really caring that Banks has helped her win. If anything, it’s come off a bit heel-ish.
