How Long is WrestleMania 33 Expected to Be?

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer took to Twitter to say how long WrestleMania 33 could run.

In 2016, WrestleMania 32 ran for about seven hours, the first two of which were dedicated to the Kickoff Show. Every match on the main card, with the exception of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, lasted 10 minutes or more. This includes a 27-minute main event between Roman Reigns and Triple H. So will WrestleMania 33 be the same?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the 2017 version of the Show of Shows is expected to run six-and-a-half hours. He took to Twitter on this.

If you love wrestling and can’t get enough of it, then this will be for you. Main event-esque matches like Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton and Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker could last 20 minutes or more. Potentially a dozen matches could even be featured, especially if Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg goes under two minutes again due to the latter wrestling just107 seconds since November. So if you’re into this, then WrestleMania 33 will be your show.

Then there’s the fatigue factor. Sitting through almost seven hours of wrestling may be tiresome, including the annual promo from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson takes up almost 20 minutes. All these matches, the speaking and more can wear down the fans at home and in the venue. In particular, the WrestleMania 32 main event had a drained crowd following the action, either booing or being indifferent toward Reigns and Triple H.

WrestleMania 33 is potentially going to be a long show. Of course, we don’t know how many matches will take place and won’t be able to time out the event until it closes on the evening of April 2. Things could always change, but after seeing the length of last year’s show and the nine championships WWE features, seeing the Grandest Stage of Them All last over one-fourth of the day seems likely.
