WWE SmackDown Live Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for March 14

A Phenomenal Tirade
At the top of the hour, SmackDown Live begins with a recap of last week’s main event. The post-show segment between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon is shown as well. After the video package, Daniel Bryan is backstage on the phone hyping up tonight’s agenda. Styles interrupts the phone call, demanding to see Shane. It’s revealed that the Commissioner isn’t here yet, which leads to the Phenomenal One going out to the ring.
Upon entering the squared circle, Styles voices his displeasure with the current authority on the Blue Brand. Feeling that John Cena was simply awarded a title shot due to his star power, he’s angered that he isn’t treated on the same level. Listing his recent battle with Luke Harper and his lack of a proper rematch for the WWE Championship, Styles is visibly angered over these developments. Stating that he brought SmackDown Live and WWE to the level where it’s at, he vents that he doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania.
The promo culminates with Styles saying that he intends to talk with Shane about his career. Fuming and passionate, this is the best we’ve seen of the Phenomenal One on the mic thus far. While him battling Shane at WrestleMania may not be the most popular choice, this feud has a chance to deliver big. Expect the Commissioner to respond to his outspoken employee later on in the show.
