Highlights of the Division

Having Bray Wyatt turn into the predator on the latest episode of SmackDown Live should give him the short-term mental edge against the Viper. He’ll need to make sure by next week’s episode that Orton chances of capturing the title are slim to none. He’ll be facing his former brother Luke Harper next week so we’ll see what kind of shape the champ is in before his title defense.

Randy Orton looked fantastic in his match against Baron Corbin and re-assured the WWE Universe that he’s in tip-top shape to win the WWE Championship. He’s already competed twice this month while his WrestleMania 33 counterpart has been lurking in the shadows.

It’s extremely embarrassing to have SmackDown Live’s top performer AJ Styles get owned by Shane McMahon to conclude the show. AJ showed a vicious side to his character last week and now looked like he got duped by his own incompetence. This match-up with Shane McMahon is clearly beneath the caliber of the former WWE Champion but he needs to be in a marquee match at the pay per view. AJ moves to the pretender’s list because of inactivity and getting owned by Shane McMahon.

John Cena and Nikki Bella made short work of Breezango which makes them look good for their match against the Miz and Maryse. Cena has officially moved to the contender’s list this week after his quick win against Fandango.

Let’s see what happens next week on SmackDown Live’s main event scene. Here are the rankings for this week.

WWE World Champion: Bray Wyatt (3 Wins – 2 Losses)

Contenders

  • No.1 Contender: Randy Orton (6 Wins – 3 Losses)
  • Contender No. 2: John Cena (5 Wins – 4 Losses) (Moved up one spot)

Pretenders

  • Pretender No. 1: AJ Styles (3 Wins – 5 Losses) (Moved down one spot)
