The SmackDown Live Midcard Division

Highlights of the Division

Dean Ambrose costing Baron Corbin his match against Randy Orton was genius on his part. He set his terms by accepting Corbin’s title shot opportunity at WrestleMania 33 and then planting him with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose will need to position himself on next week’s episode that he has the momentum in his title defense at WrestleMania.

Baron Corbin lost to Randy Orton and was humiliated by the Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose. He still claims the top contender spot because Ambrose accepted his challenge at WrestleMania 33. Corbin needs to win this matchup not only to become champion but to validate his spot in this division.

The Miz was funny in the comedy skits he produced this week but he hasn’t competed in weeks. Jokes don’t rack up wins or momentum, if he loses at WrestleMania 33—he’ll be the punchline.

Luke Harper can cut all promos he wants but he hasn’t won any matches this year alone. He’s performed really well but can’t be taken seriously at the moment.

Kalisto and Apollo Crews will need to compete in the ring to hold their spots in the mid card division.

Here are the rankings for the division.
