Asuka’s Time to Be on WWE’s Main Roster is Now

The time to shine is now for Asuka.

Asuka is red-hot. She’s been built so high, that the NXT women’s division has almost nobody who can believably beat her. It is time for her to drop the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver: Orlando to Ember Moon, then move to the main roster.

Asuka is destroying NXT. She’s probably the best female wrestler in the world right now, and she can’t seem to work her way to the main roster.

Fans are going to love Asuka on the main roster. Her hard-hitting style is unmatched in WWE right now. Everything she does looks brutal, like it kills her opponents. Plus, she can back it up with good technical skills. She also has a unique look and a lot of charisma, that gives her a strong presentation as a monster, even though she’s not bigger than most of the other girls. She’s the complete package and she has dollar signs written all over her. So why isn’t she on the main roster?

The wrestlers imported from other countries typically need more time in NXT. The language barrier is a major thing to break through, and NXT gives them a comfortable place to work through that, while also getting comfortable in the WWE TV-style of wrestling. Asuka has been here since 2015, though. She’s put her time in and she should be capable of delivering for English-speaking fans.

They don’t even need her in NXT anymore. The division doesn’t have a ton of depth, but with Superstars like Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, the top layer of talent is ready to carry the division.

Not that long ago, they needed Asuka in developmental, but now she’s less essential. They have enough talent to survive without her. Plus, there are other shows that might not be able to say that.

More from WWE

With or without Asuka, Raw and SmackDown have more talent than NXT. However, the bar is higher on WWE’s two main roster shows. Raw has the better wrestling, with three-quarters of the Four Horsewomen on the red team. Meanwhile, SmackDown has the better stories.

Seeing Asuka slide on to the blue brand would be ideal. She could really raise everybody’s game. Somebody like Carmella could really benefit from wrestling Asuka on house shows for the next few months. On TV, she could slowly work her way up, having a proper feud with Mickie James to follow up on their match from TakeOver: Toronto.

Then, she’ll be ready by the middle of the summer to enter a feud for SummerSlam and enter the upper-echelon of women’s stars.

The problem for people like Asuka is that there is no sense of urgency for WWE to bring talent up when they’re ready. A talent could be wasting his/her prime years with a brand that doesn’t have the exposure Raw or SmackDown has.

It’s not just her. Look at Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode and, not that long ago, Samoa Joe.

It’s unfair that they do this to talents that can outperform a majority of the talent on the main roster. Yet, here they are.

They need to figure it out soon, though. So far, WWE hasn’t lost a talent before they could make it through NXT, but sooner or later it will happen. Just because the bumps are being taken in front of less people, doesn’t mean that they don’t hurt. Eventually, they catch up to you. Hopefully, they don’t have a chance to catch up to Asuka before she can bring women’s wrestling to the next level.
