WWE WrestleMania 33: 10 Post-Show Predictions for 2017

1. Brock Lesnar Loses the Universal Title Before or at SummerSlam
Brock Lesnar and Goldberg went to battle for potentially the last time at WrestleMania 33. After losing to Goldberg twice during his WWE career, Lesnar managed to overpower him with suplexes, F-5’s and a flurry of other moves. It wasn’t a technical matchup, but provided entertainment for the five minutes it lasted.

The win gave Lesnar his first Universal Championship reign after going just over two years without holding a World title (he last had one at WrestleMania 31). It’s a unique position for the WWE, as they were in this during the end of 2014 and into 2015. They know he’s not going to be around for every show, so it’s possible we get a Raw PPV or two without a champion.
If Lesnar is only going to be a part-time champion, then his reign may not last so long. Maybe not ending the night after Raw, but by SummerSlam, it wouldn’t be crazy to see him no longer be the titleholder. That may line up Roman Reigns to win the belt, after he seemingly retired The Undertaker at WrestleMania. If not Reigns, other options include Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins.

It’s difficult to imagine the Beast Incarnate holding the Universal Championship for anything longer than past the next big PPV. He’s not going to be around much as it is, so at some point, do you let a full-time guy run with the title?
