WWE’s The Miz Congratulates Stipe Miocic on UFC 211 Win

WWE star The Miz applauded Stipe Miocic for his dominating win at Saturday night’s UFC 211 event, where he knocked out Junior dos Santos.

WWE and UFC have intertwined at times. Most notably, this was seen at WrestleMania 31, when Ronda Rousey accompanied Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the ring, to fend off Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a non-match segment.

Since then, there have been plenty of social media interactions between WWE and UFC stars. Who can forget Conor McGregor trashing wrestling in 2016, taking aim at multiple WWE talents?

Well, for one night, there was the “power of positivity,” as SmackDown Live’s New Day would say. This saw The Miz congratulate Stipe Miocic on defeating Junior dos Santos in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 211 pay-per-view. The A-Lister and Miocic are from Cleveland, so the former reached out to applaud the UFC Heavyweight Champion:

Is there a wrestling connection with Miocic here? A little, because in March, he was asked about potentially being interested in appearing on programming for the Leader in Sports Entertainment. He didn’t seem against it, based on this answer (h/t Uproxx):

"“Of course, that would be something fun to do,” Miocic responded immediately. “I mean, I just gotta learn how to talk better. [Or I can get] a hype man for me.”"

Even if it’s not Miocic, WWE getting a UFC star to appear on one of its shows seems likely. The company reached out to Paige VanZant last summer, but she passed on an offer. The 23-year-old didn’t rule out doing something with them in the future, though, in an interview with Maxim.com.
