Shane McMahon Says Undertaker’s Mom Gave Him Heat

On the Road to WrestleMania 32, Shane McMahon angered The Undertaker’s mother, due to a spot he did on the go-home Raw.

In 2016, Shane McMahon returned to the WWE after seven years away. Upon arrival, he got placed in a match with The Undertaker for WrestleMania 32. If McMahon won, he would get control of Raw, as well as ‘Taker’s WrestleMania career ending — something WWE never made too clear about.

On the road to this match, McMahon and Undertaker battled, going through a few physical segments. However, there was one that rattled the Dead Man’s mother, something the Prodigal Son explained in an interview with Steve Austin on The Steve Austin Show.

McMahon says it happened during the go-home episode of Raw, before WrestleMania 32 in Brooklyn, NY. This saw them brawl, which led to things going “awry,” as Shane O’Mac explains below (h/t Wrestling News for transcription):

"“I got heat from that with his mom. Oh my god, I got heat from that. It happened. I tatered the hell out of him. That was the week before. It was the go-home for WrestleMania in Brooklyn, and something went awry. We were throwing hands and we were outside and I went to hit him with a monitor or something, and then it was stuck. So all of a sudden he sits up, and I’m like, ‘Well, he’s a big dude, what am I going to do?’ So I kind of panicked a little bit, didn’t quite get my range, so I wasn’t completely looking at him, and I was like, ‘WHACK!’ And I completely stuck it out there and I felt it. It went, ‘Thunk!’ And I went, ‘Oh my god!’"

McMahon goes on to talk about telling Undertaker to take a shot at him backstage. However, the Phenom told him he’ll have to wait, something that didn’t come about until their WrestleMania 32 match. This saw Undertaker defeat McMahon in a Hell in a Cell Match.

Who knows what Mama ‘Taker actually said to McMahon, but it had to of been bad enough for him to react like that. Either way, at least it can be laughed about.

Following this bout, McMahon received Raw duties anyway, despite losing the stipulation. He has remained in an authority position since, now being the SmackDown Live Commissioner. Undertaker wrestled one more match at WrestleMania 33, which seemed like his last. Who knows — maybe his mother even gave Roman Reigns heat?
