Two months ago who would’ve thought that Jinder Mahal would headline a WWE PPV. Well thanks to the Superstar Shakeup, Mahal now has a chance to shock the world on Sunday Night.

After being acquired by Smackdown Live thanks to the Superstar Shakeup he shocked the world winning a six pack challenge to become the No. 1 contender. Mahal has aligned himself with the Singh Brothers and looks poised to win the title.

In the last few weeks Mahal has won matches over the likes of Sami Zayn and AJ Styles. He made his presence be known to Randy Orton, when he helped cost The Viper his match against Bray Wyatt at Payback.

Mahal has been a thorn in Orton’s side as Mahal as been attacking Orton along with the Singh Brothers. Mahal wants to show the world that he is not a fluke and that he is ready to become the WWE Champion.

Mahal has certainly been showing that he could a real threat for Orton this Sunday and is poised to win the championship. However being the veteran and future Hall of Famer that he is The Apex Predator has been in every situation imaginable in WWE.

This should be a great match and show that Mahal isn’t a one hit wonder. In just a short time Mahal has showing that he could be a legit star in WWE. If he keeps up this momentum he will eventually be the WWE Champion, however with experience on the side of the champion look for Orton to leave Backlash still WWE Champion.
