The RAW Mid Card Division

Highlights of the Division

Elias Samson made his in-ring debut against Dean Ambrose and won via disqualification. It’s an interesting way to have the Drifter being booked in that fashion, especially laying out the Intercontinental Champion after the Miz’s interference. It’s too early to say if Samson will be a player in the mid-card division but he would be in a much better standing in his career than what transpired back in NXT. As for now, consider him to be a pretender in the division until he racks up a few more wins to justify his credibility as a potential title contender.

As for Dean Ambrose, sitting with a 5-9 record for the year as champion is horrifying. He’s the worst booked champion in the WWE today. The Miz isn’t necessarily any better as a potential champion but he’s scored two huge wins in the past few weeks than Ambrose did. The Lunatic Fringe has held the title since mid-January and his title reign should end at Extreme Rules to the Miz.

Kalisto scored a big win over fellow title challenger Apollo Crews this week on RAW. Not only did he match his record with Crews but moved up one spot up the mid-card rankings. If Kalisto can accumulate more wins over credible challengers, he should be in line as the next contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
