We came up with three predictions as to what all could unveil during the 5 man Fatal 5-Way main event at WWE Extreme Rules 2017.

As WWE Extreme Rules 2017 is approaching us, the WWE Universe couldn’t be any more confused about who would go over. WWE Raw’s creative team has been inconsistent in putting over the stars who will feature in the PPV. This would be especially true in the case of the main event. The five men who would battle it out for the right to face Brock Lesnar have all won and lost matches over the past few weeks. Truth be told, there is no real contender on paper.

This puts WWE in a creative spot though. They could play with the various dynamics at play during the match. On any given PPV match, one could place a strong bet for Roman Reigns to go over. However, Reigns could be further from the title picture at the moment more than anybody else. WWE could well be saving Reigns vs Lesnar for Summerslam or WerestleMania. Moreover, given the way Reigns vs Strowman was forced to end abruptly, creative would be itching to go back to that feud once Strowman is back.

There has also been a lot of chatter about Finn Balor’s redemption. The first ever Universal champion, who never lost the title in all sense of the word would be the ideal opponent for Lesnar. This would be particularly interesting to watch if the Demon shows up. The appearance of Paul Heyman a week ago to put over Balor would add fire to this build up for sure. However, the other three men in the match have all been built up strongly over the weeks as well. Rollins could always come out on top. Bray won his first WWE title a while back. There is no reason to believe he would not want another title. Samoa Joe has been unleashed without anyone to control him ever since WrestleMania. Given the way these five men has been going at it over the weeks, the phrase ‘anything can happen’ is indeed true.

Despite this seemingly random buildup, there is always a pattern. Join us as we try to figure out the patterns and dynamics at play here and come up with three predictions for the main event at WWE Extreme Rules 2017.
