WWE Universal Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman

Even with how WWE Extreme Rules finished, with Samoa Joe winning to become the new No. 1 contender, Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman still seems like a good bet to main event SummerSlam. This would be for the Universal Championship.

Lesnar and Strowman had an in-ring segment in April, on the Raw after WrestleMania 33. However, they haven’t faced off since, as the Beast Incarnate hasn’t made an appearance. He’s set to return on Raw later in June.

Strowman is currently out of action, after undergoing elbow surgery. He’s reportedly expected back in July, though, so this match can still happen to close SummerSlam.

Lesnar vs. Strowman is likely a one-time thing, unless WWE sees potential in doing a second encounter. It should have a big-fight feel, which may be enough for a rematch, depending on how the finish of this match goes in August — if it definitely happens.

The Universal Championship may be with Lesnar until WrestleMania 34, but matches like this will make his reign worth it. He’ll then move on to someone like Finn Balor, Seth Rollins or Bray Wyatt.
