WWE Universal Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe

The only confirmed match for Great Balls of Fire is the main event, which will have Brock Lesnar’s first WWE Universal Championship defense. He’ll do this against Samoa Joe, who defeated four other Superstars, at Extreme Rules, to become the new No. 1 contender to the title.

Lesnar’s last WWE appearance came on the Raw after WrestleMania 33, which occurred in early April. He had just won the belt from Goldberg at the Show of Shows, so nothing of note was done with the title, which has stayed the case since, due to not being needed to show up on TV.

Joe has never competed for the Universal Championship in WWE. However, he’s not new to the main event scene, having worked it in NXT for about one full year. This included holding the NXT Championship twice, becoming the first WWE Superstar to do this.

Lesnar vs. Joe should be a hard-hitting matchup that has a big-fight feel. It’s a unique battle of two of the biggest and strongest Superstars in WWE and should excite the fans in Dallas, TX, in July.
