Fascinating Hardy Boyz WWE Tag Team Championship Statistic

The Hardy Boyz will further go down as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history with this new-revealed fascinating statistic.

At WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, hosts The New Day appeared during the triple threat ladder match for the Raw Tag Team Championship to make an announcement. While Anderson & Gallows, Enzo & Cass, and Sheamus & Cesaro all waited in the ring, Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods appeared on the stage in their ring gear as if they were going to compete.

All of a sudden, they announce that Matt and Jeff Hardy will be in the ladder match, and the duo included themselves in the bout. At the conclusion, the Hardy Boyz defeated the other teams to win the championship, commencing their seventh reign as a team.

Over the past two months, the Hardys have been feuding with former champions, Sheamus and Cesaro. What first started off as a friendly game of one-upmanship, turned into a bitter display of rage when the Hardys kept defeating Sheamus and Cesaro in both singles and tag team action. Matt and Jeff were viciously attacked following their win at the Payback event.

Although Sheamus and Cesaro were able to barely defeat the self-proclaimed “Greatest Tag Team in All of Space and Time” and recapture the championships, there is a statistic that was recently released that would be very tough to duplicate.

As announced via Twitter by Matt, the Hardy Boyz is the only tag team to win the tag team championships at least once in the past three decades. In the decade of 1990-2000, they defeated the Acolytes to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. In the decade of 2000-2010, they defeated John Cena & Shawn Michaels, Paul London & Brian Kendrick, Chavo Guerrero & Gregory Helms, Dave Taylor & William Regal, Johnny Nitro & The Miz, The Sandman & Tommy Dreamer, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch, Val Venis & Viscera, and Marcus Cor Von & Kevin Thorn in a 10-team tag match to become champions.

Exactly 10 years later, they were able to be triumphant during the ladder match at WrestleMania. With these statistics, along with the accolades of Matt and Jeff individually, the two are shoo-in WWE Hall of Famers, and just may indeed be the “greatest tag team in all of space and time.”
