1. Shinsuke Nakamura

In light of the events that transpired at the Money in the Bank event, Nakamura still looks strong.

As many may know, Nakamura has been everywhere and done it all, but he has yet to be in the running for a WWE Championship.

At Battleground, the WWE could book this similar to Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar.

Even if Shinsuke loses in a one-off to Mahal at Battleground, he won’t fall out of favor to the crowd, especially in Corbin plays a role in this match: Maybe a fake Money in the Bank cash-in?

Like we saw at Money in the Bank, Corbin was about to go up the ladder and get the contract, but Shinsuke’s return distracted Corbin.

Nakamura could be in the heat of action against Mahal and Corbin’s music could hit, distracting him.

We saw a fake cash-in on the night of the Money in the Bank event with Carmella, the same thing could happen here, just to mess with Nakamura which could set up for a match between the two at SummerSlam.

Booking it that way would also make Nakamura still look strong.

There are only so many guys—babyfaces in particular—that can set up for a Mahal match at Battleground in a potential one-off prior to a Cena and Mahal match at SummerSlam.

We know that is going to happen at SummerSlam, but the biggest question is what will happen between now and then? Cena and Mahal could have some showdowns, but expect Styles, Nakamura and/or Orton in the meantime.

All hail The Maharaja!
