Davey Richards parts ways with Global Force Wrestling to pursue a medical degree.

Davey Richards announced via Twitter earlier this week that he will be leaving Global Force Wrestling, as reported by Wrestling Inc.  His goal is to pursue a Doctorate Degree as he claims that “he just wants to be a doctor.”  Richards has been hinting at retirement for the better part of seven years now.  It was thought that his time would be relatively short when he debuted in Impact as a part of MVP’s investor storyline in 2014.

While in Global Force, formerly known as TNA Impact Wrestling, Richards debuted as a part of the Wolves.  With his partner Eddie Edwards, the Wolves would become one of the most successful teams in TNA history.  The Wolves were two time Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions and five time Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.  Richards would end his Impact Wrestling tenure in a bitter personal rivalry with once brother Eddie Edwards.  It is now left to wonder if Richards would have made for an entertaining Unified World Champion.  Richards gives his full explanation below:

Richards is looking to obtain his goals outside of professional wrestling.  It is amazing the versatile skills that a wrestler can have.  Imagine how talented and driven Richards is and will be as a doctor.  With a newborn child with Angelina Love, it could be only a matter of time before she joins him outside of Global Force Wrestling.  With Richards now at a crossroads, it seems that his time in the wrestling ring as the American Wolf is over.
