Danny Burch vs. Oney Lorcan

Result: Oney Lorcan defeated Danny Burch via submission.

Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars

Not too much to mention here, as it doesn’t impact the landscape of WWE NXT. However, it was another hard-hitting affair between Burch and Lorcan.

For Lorcan, he continues to have these tough kind of matches. It’s not leading to anything, but he still gets enough time to get into the ring and not drift away into the backstage area.

Burch still gets opportunities after his solid showing at the WWE UK Championship Tournament in January. It’s helped his stock to go above his old standing, well before the tournament took place.

Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. No Way Jose

Result: Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated No Way Jose via pinfall.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Zelina Vega has made her way onto WWE NXT and is somewhat of Almas’ manager or party friend or something along those lines. She’s the talented Thea Trinidad, however, who can eventually get into the ring and be a solid part of the NXT Women’s Division.

Vega acted like a manager here, however, as she guided Almas to victory and kept him in line as he tried to showboat. It’s kind of the culmination of a storyline that lasted for months, as Cien had trouble winning matches and staying focused. Commentary only talked about his party life, until they actually showed it off and created a gimmick out of it.

Afterward, Vega created Almas vs. Johnny Gargano, who was looking for an opponent, for TakeOver: Brooklyn III. It’s the first opportunity for a one-on-one match for these two, and Gargano’s first since his breakup with Tommaso Ciampa at TakeOver: Chicago.
