The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division

Highlights of the Division

The Usos defeated the New Day in a surprising impromptu Summerslam match on Smackdown. Having the champs lose a few days before their title match to their opponents is beyond silly. It doesn’t matter which combination of the New Day faces off with the Usos, they still lost. There are plenty of other teams in the division who could have wrestled against either team on the last Smackdown before Summerslam. This division shouldn’t revolve around two teams for one straight month, it isn’t hard to try something new.

That’s why the New Day should retain their gold at Summerslam. They have yet to face any other competition other than their Summerslam opponents for months now. It’s time for other opponents to step up to the plate and challenge the New Day for the tag team titles. The Hype Bros have been sitting on the shelf for more than a month now and they should be chomping at the bit to get a title shot. The New Day should beat the Usos at Summerslam and await fresh new challengers to dethrone them on Smackdown Live.

No important updates emerged from the Fashion Peaks segment this week on Smackdown Live. Breezango just alluded again that there is a threat that is imminent in the tag team division but never explained in detail what it is. We’ll probably find out in two weeks when the Fashion Police arrive back to Smackdown Live. This “threat” could be the key to rejuvenate the division after Summerslam when the dust settles.

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
