The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division

Highlights of the Division

The Usos carried their momentum of beating the New Day on Smackdown Live last week and captured the tag titles from them at Summerslam. Scoring another win over the Hype Bros this past Tuesday didn’t do much but solidify that they are the team to beat on Smackdown Live. The New Day is still owed a rematch for the gold and it wouldn’t be surprising if they did capture it down the road. The question will be when will this rivalry end? It’s definitely clogging up the rest of the division from getting a shot at the gold.

Which is why the return of Shelton Benjamin is so key to this division. Once the New Day/Usos feud concludes, the Gold Standard and Chad Gable should be the team to get the next crack at the gold. They are already considered contenders in the division because both men have already been tag team champions in the past. Also Chad Gable with his old partner Jason Jordan were hovering around the Smackdown Tag Team title picture for months before Jordan went to RAW. This new pairing will debut next week on Smackdown and look for them to start winning matches till they start getting an opportunity for the Smackdown tag team gold.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the division.

Next week the Fashion Police will be returning to Smackdown Live but the question is if we’ll be getting the answers of who attacked them for weeks. So many rumours have floated around for a month now on who has attacked this popular tag team. One new theory that has floated around this week was the former NXT Tag Team Champions, the Authors of Pain. If that is the case that would be ground breaking for this division and a game changer for Smackdown Live. But remember, this is just a rumour floating around. Another possibility could be the reuniting of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan which would be another fantastic possibility for this division.

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
