WWE Raw: Predicting When Dean Ambrose Will Turn Heel

WWE Raw’s Dean Ambrose is currently a popular babyface as he teams alongside Seth Rollins, but how much longer will that last?

Man, the WWE Universe sure does love itself a good Shield reunion, and it came at the perfect time, too. On WWE Raw, Dean Ambrose had lost all momentum due to coming out on the losing end of a tired feud with The Miz, and Seth Rollins was in no man’s land creatively after his feud with Bray Wyatt.

While the Shield reunion resulting in Ambrose and Rollins becoming Raw Tag Team Champions was great and all, we know that this is not going to last forever. The nostalgia of the Shield reunion is bound to wear off eventually, and Rollins and Ambrose are both vital singles competitors. So, this tandem may not last that long.

Seth Rollins has recently turned from heel to face, and it looks as though the company is going to lean on him a lot as a top face as shown by his selection to the WWE 2K18 cover. So, that leaves Dean Ambrose as the one to turn heel.

Ambrose has always been a fan favorite, but his “Lunatic Fringe” personality has veered more towards the goofy side rather than towards the crazy and hardcore side that we saw in Jon Moxley on the independent scene. If Ambrose were to finally turn heel, he would be able to unleash that inner lunatic from within rather than restraining himself to WWE’s version of what a babyface should be.

The only question here is, when exactly will Ambrose turn on Seth Rollins? With all of the focus WWE programming put on them becoming a team and the strength the team has been portraying in their matches with the Hardy Boys and Sheamus and Cesaro, they will likely have a healthy run as champs before their split.

Rollins and Ambrose will likely retain the titles in their match at No Mercy against Sheamus and Cesaro. Then, they can have a couple of title defenses against teams like Gallows and Anderson and they could have another classic bout against the Hardys.

These matches will not likely be where the tension will begin between Rollins and Ambrose. That is going to happen at Survivor Series and The Royal Rumble. At Survivor Series, the tag team will probably be involved in some form of elimination tag that does not really mean much or could be going up against Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The Usos.

Let’s say they go up against The Usos at Survivor Series for bragging rights. Seth Rollins could lose the match for the former Shield members and Ambrose will be noticeably upset but will keep his cool since they are still champions.

Then, at the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins will be the one responsible for Ambrose’s elimination and will claim that it was every man for himself. Ambrose will once again be visibly upset but will keep his cool since Rollins had a point.

At the next PPV after the Royal Rumble, Ambrose and Rollins are going to lose the Raw Tag Team Championships to The Revival due to miscommunication on their part. The duo will be bickering but will regain their composure for their rematch.

During their rematch, Ambrose will carry the team for the most part. Then, Rollins will either get rolled up while not paying attention, or he will not save Ambrose from a Revival finisher and pin. This will be the last straw for Ambrose.

Ambrose will once again be visibly fuming and Rollins will try to calm him down, but ultimately, Ambrose will snap and will absolutely destroy Rollins, using every possibly weapon. He will stand over Rollins’ battered and broken body.

This should culminate into an incredibly heated feud heading into WrestleMania 34. We have seen Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins several times before, but with the roles reversed, this should be a fresh matchup with a lot of interest surrounding it.
