2. Baron Corbin Screws Over Tye Dillinger

Baron Corbin is a polarizing superstar in the WWE, because he seems to have just as many detractors in the WWE Universe as he does fans. While most were upset that he lost the Money in the Bank briefcase, especially in such jocular fashion, and followed that up with a loss to John Cena at SummerSlam, others believe that he’s simply too generic and boring. He has only pulled three legitimately good matches on the main roster (triple threat with AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler, singles match with Styles, “Chairs” match with Kalisto at TLC) thus far, and his performance at Battleground against Shinsuke Nakamura was one of the most lackluster.

Meanwhile, Tye Dillinger is a fan favorite in every sense. His “10” gimmick has remained incredibly over on the main roster, and he’s shown that he can withstand a bizarre to Aiden English. Dillinger lost to Corbin and already lost to Styles in a United States Championship match, but last week on SmackDown, Styles stated that he’ll give Dillinger a shot at the title because he respects him more as a contributor (Corbin needed a cheap shot to win, which is ironic, considering that used to be Styles’s go-to tactic).

I doubt Corbin can be too pleased that the guy he beat is getting a title opportunity, and the rumor mill has Corbin and Styles fighting it out for the U.S. Title. Expect Corbin to make a statement on Dillinger today, perhaps before the match or during it. There’s a chance we get a better Styles vs. Dillinger bout than their first matchup two weeks ago, but with so many storylines tonight, I could see this match never going to completion.

Corbin has made a habit of beating up superstars this year, whether it be Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, or Nakamura. Heck, he’s even tried to do this to Dillinger once before. “The Lone Wolf” does what he wants, and I expect him to make his presence felt.
