5. The build towards NXT TakeOver: WarGames

NXT TakeOver events have a history of stealing the show time after time. It doesn’t matter if it is on a Royal Rumble weekend or a WrestleMania weekend. The TakeOver events will feature better matches and a lively crowd compared to the main roster. That trend seems to be well on course to repeating this year as well. After a long time, the WarGames are upon us.

WWE has always lacked dominant stables running rampant on the main roster to pull this off. However, that is not necessarily the case on NXT. The Undisputed Era and Sanity have been at it for a good while now. Throw in the ever-so dangerous Authors of Pain and you have all the right ingredients. This week’s main event featured Sanity and the Undisputed Era in a six man tag team match. Chaos would ensue throughout the match.

However, everything would reach its peak when the Authors of Pain made their presence felt. They are still unhappy about Sanity taking their tag team titles. As a result, the Undisputed Era got the win. The build towards WarGames has officially kicked off this way. Everything looks promising at the moment. Dominant teams – check, titles on the line – check, personal rivalries – check. This is the kind of stuff the main roster can only dream of. Hopefully, the teams involved manage to nail the action as well. Seeing the level of talent involved, there is no reason to think otherwise either.
