Sami Zayn takes a… protected loss?
So we’re all in the honeymoon period of Sami Zayn’s heel turn. Honeymoons are wonderful times. When you’re on a honeymoon, your better half can’t do any wrong. Everything they do is magical and beautiful and you don’t want to see anything bad come unto them. So when your better half heads to the seafood buffet on your honeymoon cruise expecting to get some delicious lobster tail with artisan garlic butter but ends up coming back with some limp, undercooked prawns with that red sauce that looks like ketchup but isn’t ketchup… you feel terrible for them. We’re still on our honeymoon, it’s not the time for disappointment.
So we felt bad when Sami Zayn lost to Randy Orton. Really, really bad.
But, gentle reader, I’m here to tell you that the honeymoon is still intact. It’s very much ongoing. You see, I believe Sami Zayn got a protected loss. Sami was really taking it to Orton, a man who is a 13-time world champion, and the two had a really competitive match. When it comes down to it, Sami didn’t lose clean, he got a low blow by Randy Orton.

Oh, sure you could say it’s 50-50 booking, following-up on what happened last week, but WWE could have had Sami simply job out to Orton. All signs point to a protected finish.
It sucks that Sami’s not on the Survivor Series team. But this is a very telling sign that his push is meaningful and that it just might finally be Sami Zayn’s time on the main roster.
