WarGames Match: SAnitY vs The Undisputed Era vs The Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong

This is going to be a lot of fun. In fact, one prediction that can be made first is that when 2017 comes to an end, this match will most likely be in the top five best matches of the year. It just has to be. When you factor in the sheer talent involved, coupled with the savagery of WarGames, this becomes a can’t miss type contest. SAnitY has proven time and time again their penchant for violence, as have The Authors of Pain. The other fours guys involved, Strong, Cole, O’Reilly, and Fish, may not exactly look the part, but are widely regarded as four of the most physical mat wrestlers in the world. They’ll fit in just fine. And for the first time in over 17 years we get to see the double ring with the double cage. Amazing.

The idea of this match is so exciting that it almost doesn’t matter who wins. But let’s try and figure it out anyways. And to decide that, we need to understand what a possible winner(s) stand to gain. SAnitY’s tag belts are not on the line, so that’s not a factor.

So outside of bragging rights, what’s the payoff here? Well the winning team will be regarded as the fiercest group in the NXT and as such, should be in the NXT Championship picture. There is one name that is just screaming for a title program with McIntyre. And that man is Adam Cole. The leader of The Undisputed Era orchestrated the Attack on the champion after his win at TakeOver in August which firmly showed where his intentions lie. Cole has the most to gain Saturday night and that’s why his squad will be victorious.

So how will The Undisputed Era get it done? Roderick Strong’s inclusion here is a bit conspicuous. The other two teams are groups, while Strong is just a throw in. And sure, he already turned down Cole’s group and aligned himself with AOP through trickery, but that doesn’t mean that he there isn’t something else up his sleeve. Factor in that Strong has had a relationship with all three members of The Undisputed Era that dates back all the way to 2011, and it looks like something fishy is going on here. Strong will double cross Akam and Rezar in route to helping his new faction win WarGames.

Winner: The Undisputed Era
