WWE Rumors: Triple H vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 34?
By Harry Austen
Kurt Angle, who recently returned to action this month at WWE TLC and will compete this Sunday at Survivor Series, could already have a match made at WrestleMania.
The WWE Raw GM has had a funny few months. Initially, fans thought that Angle’s days of wrestling were long gone, with the former World Champion seemingly avoiding bumps during his confrontations with Superstars during his GM duties. Along with this, it was speculated that Angle hadn’t gone though any medical tests or physical, making his return to the ring all the more unlikely.
However, as well know, wrestling can change on the flip of a coin, and the former Olympian was shoved into the three-on-five match at WWE TLC 2017 – due to Reigns’ illness. Following the match, which signified that he wasn’t ‘one-and-done’, speculation ensued. It’s safe to now say that Angle will be involved, in some way or another, at WrestleMania. But who will he face?
On the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer’s right hand man, Bryan Alverez, mentioned that Triple H being added to the Survivor Series team is WWE’s way of starting the build for a match down the line between Triple H and Kurt Angle. Furthermore, Alvarez mentioned that the match destination is ‘Mania.
Personally, I’m a big fan of this. And if Triple H needs to have his obligatory WrestleMania pay-day, why not put him in there against Angle? The two worked wonders together in the past, and albeit they’re a lot older now, the two should still be able to put on a show.

In terms of the narrative, it pretty much writes itself. I can see Stephanie McMahon playing a big role (like she normally does), degrading Angle in the worst way following Survivor Series – if the team doesn’t win; taking it out of the former Gold Medalist. Hopefully then the GM can serve Stephanie her comeuppance, and make a match against her husband at ‘Mania.
