WWE Survivor Series 2017: Should Alexa Bliss Beat Charlotte Flair?

It’s the battle between the Goddess and The Queen when Alexa Bliss faces off against Charlotte Flair this Sunday at Survivor Series.

Both Raw and Smackdown’s top women will go head to head in efforts to earn their respective brand its bragging rights.  The two brands competing against each other is the theme of this year’s Survivor Series, with the best of the best duking it out in the middle of the ring.

On one hand it’s exciting and it gives fans something different.  But on the other hand, a good portion of these matches may just be a one-off with nothing else to go on once the brands get back to normal.  It may not be the case for this match.

But for now, fans can enjoy the battles that are set to play out.  For this match in particular, it’s not a matter of who is the best – because both women are great in their own right.  It’s a sense of who needs this win more.  That is, if the match is a fair one to begin with.

Bliss has been on a roll since coming onto the main roster last summer.  Since then she has become the one to beat on Monday nights.  From Bayley to Sasha Banks to Mickie James, Bliss was able to overcome them all.  Bliss is skillfully resourceful, which is why she has been able to keep the Raw Women’s Championship around her waist.

Essentially Bliss has been one step ahead of everyone else, and that has been crucial to her success in the ring.  She is the young buck in the Raw Women’s Division, but manages to stay on top of the mountain as the target is in the dead middle of her back.  Bliss is smart indeed, but Flair will give her a run for her money.

Charlotte Flair has a lot of pressure riding on her shoulders being the daughter of Ric Flair.  But since her time in NXT, she has improved tremendously and has become one of the more skilled wrestlers in the entire women’s division.  Flair has proven that she is genetically superior – and her accomplishments speak for it.  Her dominance over the last couple of years has been career defining at best.

To answer that question – Should Alexa Bliss beat Charlotte Flair – considering that Flair has been on a comeback, the answer would be no.  Flair defeated Natalya Tuesday night on Smackdown to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship, so for her to lose immediately would do her more harm than good.  This is sensibly speaking.

More from Daily DDT

Flair had taken time off due to her father’s recent health scare, but her winning on Tuesday is among the moments that matter and what fans love to see.  Bliss wouldn’t need that win simply because she’s already dominated Raw.  Plus, a loss to Flair can play a factor in her next feud.  Easily one of the women can chastise Bliss while having an ‘egg on her face’ moment and it can go from there.

There is an disadvantage though.  One huge factor that looms over both women is the threat of Miss Money in the Bank Carmella.  Again, both women are dominating and talented.  However instead of finding out who is really the best of them all, Carmella can easily put a dent in the entire match up and shake the division to its core with her historic cash in.  It would be a monumental moment, and it could throw everything off for either woman.

Flair is the comeback queen while Bliss is the Goddess that runs Raw on Monday nights.  However with Carmella as a threat the outcome of this match could be completely unexpected.  Survivor Series has already got an unexpected factor leading up to the event.  One more surprise could very well be in the works.
