Tag Team Match: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton – Special Guest Referees: Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan
So as mentioned in the opening slide, we did just see this match a couple of months ago on SmackDown Live. However, Sunday night will have very different implications as far the future of Zayn and Owens. If they lose in Boston, they’re off the blue brand’s roster. So let’s make one thing clear. That’s not going to happen. Even if they do lose, they’re not going to be kicked off SmackDown. That’s crazy talk. They are currently far and away the two best heels that show has to offer and considering that the rekindling of their friendship just started two months ago when Zayn assisted “KO” at Hell In A Cell, this current duo has a big future on the blue brand.
So there are a lot of ways things could go down Sunday night. It seems pretty apparent that either Bryan or McMahon are going to turn on someone here. The scenario that is being rubbed in every wrestling fans face is the idea that Bryan will side with Zayn and Owens, his two buddies from their former days on the independent circuit. But as we’ve seen so many times over the years, Shane is always one story line re-write away from turning heel. But after all he has been through with Zayn and Owens over the past couple of months, how would siding with them make any sense? This is really a confusing one.
Then there’s always the possibility that nothing significant happens. Maybe Zayn and Owens steal a cheap pin or Orton gets his team disqualified. And then this can just keep going on into 2018. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

So here’s the deal. As fun and as much as it makes more sense for Bryan to make the heel turn, the WWE fans would never go for it. He’s just too beloved. My guess is that Shane aids Zayn and Owens in winning and two nights later explains how over these past few months he’s grown to respect his two former enemies. It’s a stretch for sure, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen.
Winners: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens
