4. Mojo Rawley Getting Traction as Singles Competitor

The Hype Bros were one of the most underutilized tag teams in the WWE over the past year or so.  Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder fell under the radar of a talented tag team division on Tuesday nights, but Mojo decided he had enough.

After turning heel on Ryder a few weeks back, it was expected that Mojo would get a singles push into some type of significance.  But he really hadn’t gotten a chance to do anything and even his feud with Ryder was cut very short.  Last night might have been the start Mojo needed, however, to make a splash.

In a United States Championship tournament match, Mojo battled his former tag team partner Ryder with the winner going on to battle Bobby Roode in the semifinal round.  The match wasn’t much of anything, but it did showcase Mojo in a positive way as a heel and he knocked off Ryder.  He then had a brief stare off with Roode following the match.

It’s not likely Mojo will win the U.S. Championship anytime soon, but having him in the picture shows that the WWE might be giving him a shot at making his name as a singles competitor.  If he can hold his own against Roode, that should go a long way as well.  Maybe he isn’t ready yet, but the WWE needs to give him a chance to prove it one way or another.

It might have taken a while, but Mojo might finally be getting some traction in his new heelish role as a singles competitor.
