It was a crime that Samoa Joe didn’t even have a spot on the WrestleMania card last year. Since then, WWE has done some redemption for the Samoan Submission Machine. With a recurring feud with Reigns to a good showing with Lesnar last summer, it is no doubt that Joe deserves a big win such as the Royal Rumble.
Fans would welcome a rematch with Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar for sure. If there is a major swerve and Braun Strowman captures the Championship, no doubt this will be a monster main event for Raw. However, money talks for WWE so don’t get your hopes up for a surprise of that magnitude. Either way, seeing Samoa Joe realize the fruits of his labor would be an incredible moment. It would be an even bigger moment for Samoa Joe should he win the Universal Championship.
Samoa Joe’s status is up in the air due to injury and/or his role in the Transformers animated film. It’s unknown how serious the injury is and a bigger unknown if he will make his debut in the Royal Rumble this year. Also – there has never been a Superstar who has won the Rumble in his debut. Samoa Joe could be that man. But ultimately, are the cards dealt in his favor?
