Rich Swann, WWE Superstar and 205 Live star, looks set to return after his domestic abuse charges have been dropped. Prosecutors stated that there is ‘insufficient evidence’ to continue with the investigation.

The former Cruiserweight Classic competitor was the #1 contender for for Enzo Amore’s WWE Cruiserweight Title and was due to compete in the title match just as news of his arrest broke and he was suspended by the WWE, as per company policy.

He was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment/kidnapping and a misdemeanour charge of battery-touching or striking after eyewitnesses watched the wrestler get into an altercation with his wife.

The witnesses alleged that Swann forced his wife, Vannarah Riggs, back into his car after she appeared to exit the vehicle looking frightened. Another witness also alleged that when Swann didn’t put the vehicle in park when he exited, it carried on moving and crashed.

The police report, which as PWInsider.com reports, states that Swann was seen grabbing Riggs, who is also a wrestler under the name Su Yung, by the arm and then by the neck to force her back inside the car. Riggs also allegedly told police that she was scared “because [Swann] has a temper sometimes.”

Swann denied using force to get his wife back into the car, and denied touching her at all. He said that he wanted her to get back in the car as they were using the GPS on her phone and he needed it to get home.

Following this, the couple appeared to publicly reconcile. Riggs posted several social-media messages in support of her husband which led many to, it turns out correctly, assume that the case against Swann would be dropped.

Given that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon recently went on record to discuss Rich Swann’s status with the WWE, saying that he would be fired if found guilty of the charges.
