#5. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan to influence the Rumble

SmackDown LIVE’s current storyline between Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan disagreeing over how to deal with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens has been one of the best nuanced pieces of storytelling the WWE has done in quite a long time.

Throughout the feud it’s been unclear who exactly the audience should be rooted for. On one had Kevin Owens is an awful employee who headbutted his boss’ father and cheated at every turn. On the other hand Shane McMahon is an awful boss who has treated Owen’s unfairly, screwed him over as often as possible and tried to kill him at Hell In A Cell.

Regardless of which side of the fence you’re on, it’s clear that this storyline is going to be a vital part of what happens at the Royal Rumble and SmackDown LIVE after the PPV.

Currently neither Owens, Zayn nor AJ Styles, who has found himself involved are advertised for the match, but other involved Superstars Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton are. What if either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon got involved and tipped the balance in favor of one of these wrestlers?

Given that the WWE Title match of AJ Styles Vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens is likely to happen before the Rumble match its possible that the result could influence Daniel or Shane’s actions later on.

Alternatively Shane McMahon could even enter the Rumble match and might even win it depending on how strong his need is to make sure Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn don’t get their hands on the WWE Title.
