Rey Mysterio Jr.
WHY IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA, YO
Putting Rey Mysterio Jr. in the position of general manager would definitely be a coup and a true surprise. But more importantly, it would be a perfect fit.
As the man who is widely regarded as the definitive cruiserweight, having even transcended his weight class to compete with larger wrestlers, his presence would act like a “seal of quality” to the current crop of cruiserweights. Not to mention that he has name value for even the most offhand wrestling aficionado. “Hey, I remember this guy, he was good,” Casual McFan would say, as Mysterio’s presence establishes expectations, helping fans understand that 205 Live showcases a style of wrestling that Mysterio pioneered. Such a figurehead would establish exactly what to expect and would likely help curb the show’s perception problem.
Mysterio’s star power and legacy would instantly inject interest in the division. Not to mention the enticing idea of he having One More Match™ with the likes of Mustafa Ali or Gran Metalik. Tell me you didn’t get swoon a little at that thought.

WHY IT MIGHT NOT WORK, TOUGH
If you’re to believe the rumor mill, Mysterio and WWE were recently in negotiations but both parties couldn’t come to terms. You should never say never when it comes to the wrestling business, but one would expect that WWE would want him hanging around on either of the main roster shows (especially with the money they’d likely be paying him).
