PCW Ultra’s “May the 4th” show featured some of the biggest names in wrestling like Shane Strickland, Jeff Cobb, Mick Foley, and Pentagon Jr. But nobody shined brighter than the diamond herself, as Tessa Blanchard became the first ever PCW Ultra Women’s Champion after beating Chelsea Green.

Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Division just might be the most captivating women’s division among any major promotion in wrestling today, because there are a few excellent stories. Rosemary, Allie, and Su Yung closed out the most recent episode of Impact in dramatic fashion. Meanwhile, newcomer Tessa Blanchard is already asserting herself in the division, interrupting a match between Kiera Hogan and Taya Valkyrie – but this time using violence to make her presence felt.

Blanchard has always been respected by the fans and seen as one of the best female wrestlers in the business. It once seemed like she was close to signing with the WWE after appearing in the Mae Young Classic, but, in a way, it’s better that she’s working with Impact. Her introduction to the show has been spectacular, and she’s been able to continue to dazzle on the Independent scene while working with Impact.

Her latest achievement? Winning the first ever PCW Ultra Women’s Championship at PCW’s Stars Wars-inspired “May the 4th…” show.

She captured the title by defeating Chelsea Green, who is a former Knockouts Champion under the name “Laurel Van Ness”. In Impact, Austin Aries, who is the promotion’s Grand Champion, is dubbed the “belt collector”, but maybe it’s more appropriate to give Blanchard this title. The third-generation star has six titles to her credit, and she doesn’t seem to be stopping.

Arrogant but easily able to back up her constant chatter and braggadocios catchphrases, Blanchard has her eyes set on the Knockouts Championship. Allie has already successfully defended that title against Su Yung and Taya Valkyrie in recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see when Blanchard ends up getting her shot at “The Bunny”.

But maybe the more important question is, when will Impact release her absolute banger of a theme song?

In other news, Jessicka Havok will take on another Impact Knockouts Division star tonight, as she must find a way to solve Taya Valkyrie at Pro Wrestling Revolver in Des Moines, Iowa. The show will start at 9 p.m. ET, and this match in particular should be excellent. You can catch the matches on Impact’s super-clutch Twitch channel.
