WWE SmackDown: Fantasy Booking A Rusev Day Break Up

Rusev Day, the team of Rusev and Aiden English, seems destined to break up soon on WWE SmackDown Live, but how will it happen?

On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, there was an interesting interaction between Rusev, his wife Lana, and Aiden English. Rusev and English were preparing a new song to try to get back on track when Lana came by to borrow some of Rusev’s time.

Lana claimed that Rusev was not reaching his full potential here in WWE and that something was holding him back. When Rusev asked what she meant, Aiden English appeared in the picture again implying that Lana wants Rusev to turn on Aiden English.

Now, despite being married, Rusev and Lana have been doing their own thing lately aside from their time together during the Mixed Match Challenge. Rusev has been creating a holiday everyday in his honor with the help of Aiden English, while Lana has tried her hand in the Women’s Division as both a wrestler and a manager.

However, now that it looks like Lana is back on team Rusev, this might mean that Rusev’s current counterpart, Aiden English, will have to be cut off of the Rusev Day squad. This may be a shock to some since this act has gotten over with the crowd and has been selling merch like crazy, but all good things must come to an end.

The only question is how will it come to an end? This first video implies that it will be Rusev turning on English, but what if it were the other way around. After all, Rusev has organically grew into a massive babyface organically by showing his true personality online, on Total Divas, and now on WWE television, while Aiden’s singing gimmick has proven to be a successful heat magnet that would draw boos even while he has been paired with Rusev.

So instead of forcing a Rusev heel turn, why not give the people the babyface Rusev they have been clamoring for by having Aiden English turn on Rusev instead? It sounds good in theory, but how would it play out?

Well, we could have a few weeks of Lana pulling Rusev away from English to talk backstage privately. At first, English will think nothing of it, I mean they are husband and wife after all, but soon English will start to become suspicious and paranoid that the duo are conspiring against him.

Finally, all three members of Rusev Day will have a big segment in the ring on SmackDown. Rusev and Lana will continue to tease this idea of something holding them back and saying they need to make changes for the good of the team and everything like that.

Finally, English will burst out interrupting them because he can’t take the expense. He’ll claim they have no right to kick him out of Rusev Day because he was the one that made Rusev Day what it was. He’d go on to say that Rusev and Rusev Day would be nothing without him, and Rusev has been the one holding HIM back, not the other way around.

After Aiden’s big blowout, Rusev and Lana would stand back shocked for a second. Then, Rusev would say something funny like “I was just going to say we needed matching tights to be more cohesive as a team” or something of that sort.

Then, English will try to backtrack on what he said while a very upset and angry Rusev moves closer and closer to him. English then goes, “Okay, I see you need some time to cool off, so I’m just going to go”.

English would pretend to exit the ring, but then he would reenter and attack Rusev from behind. Rusev would retaliate and force Aiden English to flee the scene. So, in the end, we’d get babyface Rusev paired with his babyface wife Lana, while Aiden English becomes a cowardly midcard heel.

I think this scenario would work far better than reverting Rusev back to his no nonsense dominant heel ways. It is time for a change, so why not make a change that the WWE Universe is begging for?
