John Cena Breaking Up With Nikki Bella Looking More and More Like a Work

Nikki Bella and John Cena are about to unintentionally turn heel after they inevitably announce their split was a work.

I admit it: I adore Nikki Bella, and shamelessly so. John Cena is fine. Just…fine. Although I don’t love him, I definitely don’t hate him. You can’t ignore the amazing things he does for children. Admittedly, I teared up during the Cricket Wireless video that aired a while back where fans thanked him for what he has done for them. Overall, he seems to be a good guy. And his very public relationship with Nikki Bella seemed to be heading in the right direction. That’s why I, too, was shocked with the rest of the world when Nikki and John announced publicly that they were parting ways.

And I fell for it, just like many. In all fairness, I didn’t think Nikki and John would dare to fake their own breakup. If it’s all for a reality television show, that’s just really stooping low. But as more news comes out, I am almost convinced that the entire breakup was staged. So I’m calling it now: Nikki Bella and John Cena’s breakup is a work.

Once it turns out that they are back together, I will be irritated to the highest degree. As a fan, seeing someone do things like this strictly as a publicity stunt is absolutely sickening. It is very similar to the fame-hungry Heidi Montag/Spencer Pratt breakup back in the day. And we all know how those two baboons turned out.

So how do we know this is a work?

Well, I did see one person I follow on Twitter point out that it’s a classic PR stunt. Public relations teams generally announce breaking news like that on Sundays so that it makes waves for the Monday news. Then, they can drag it out all week long.

That’s an excellent point. Even if they had been broken up prior to that, they still chose to wait until a Sunday to get the most out of the tabloids. That in itself is kind of sketchy.

I also noticed that the WWE has been posting on their own Twitter platform in regards to Nikki and John. If that doesn’t scream “storyline,” then I don’t know what does. The WWE likely does not want to lose connections with E!, so they are playing along with it. After all, Total Divas and Total Bellas ratings have been slipping over time.

And now, we have John Cena on the Today Show proclaiming his love for his ex. Take a look:

Not only does

sound horribly forced and scripted, but there’s something I want to point out. Judge Judy often says that if it doesn’t make sense, it usually isn’t true. That looks to be the case here, too. Why is it that after telling both the world and Nikki that he doesn’t want kids, he’s suddenly changed his tune?

Add in the fact that we’re supposed to watch Thursday’s Today Show to watch Nikki’s version — after she said at the NBCUniversal Upfront that she hadn’t seen Cena’s appearance yet — and this thing just smells of a big publicity stunt.

Even Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio is certain that this is all a storyline.

Alvarez points out that they are probably forced to stay apart just because if they are seen together, they will blow the whole story. He says that it is “so clearly a storyline right now.”

One thing is for sure. If those two used their celebrity status to work the entire world, they might have successfully pulled off an unintentional heel turn. How could anyone take these two at face value after something like this? I am just sorry to see those two do something so low. They’ll be laughing at their fans as they cash in those giant checks they are getting paid to “break up.”

Sure, we don’t know if it’s a work yet or not. But the more information that comes out, the more it’s really looking to be. If the season finale of Total Divas is their wedding, I can honestly say I would not be shocked.
