8. Tessa Blanchard

I want to say that Tessa Blanchard defeating Madison Rayne next week at “Under Pressure” is a guarantee, but it would be presumptuous to discount Rayne in her first match back, let alone a match as important as this one. Blanchard’s intensity on the mic is palpable, and her promo work is a huge reason why her blow-ups with Kiera Hogan and Rayne have felt like a big deal.

While she hasn’t been in a match with anything on the line, it always feels like there’s a whole lot of pride on the line whenever Blanchard opens up her mouth or beats someone up to start a fight. She’s just awesome like that, and she already feels like a centerpiece in the Knockouts Division, even though she isn’t the champion or involved in the biggest storyline.

7. Moose

Although I expected more out of the match between Moose and Kongo Kong in the main event of Impact Wrestling, the match itself wasn’t bad. And Moose’s big win over Kongo Kong puts it in the record books that he was the person to defeat Jimmy Jacobs’s monster, as the others came short. He benefited from not having to deal with Jacobs at ringside, because Jacobs saved Kong’s butt weeks earlier by causing a disqualification. But that showed, of course, that in a fair fight, Moose wins that match nine times out of ten.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Moose, who initially had the briefcase for the Impact World Championship, but lost it to Eli Drake (who then failed his cash-in on Pentagon Jr.). Moose has a case for either the Impact World Championship or Impact Grand Championship, but I wonder if he’ll get sidetracked by another heel looking to make a name for himself against Mr. Impact.
