Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick Vs Lince Dorado and Kalisto

Result: Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick Win with the captain’s hook

Grade: C+

As normal, 205 Live kicked off with a tag-team match this week. The Luchadore House Party are ever present on 205 Live TV and their latest feud is with Kendrick and Gallagher, with Drew Gulak making his alliance with that pair official on this week’s show.

Gulak was out on commentary for the match and he was so amusing that honestly, at times, I zoned out of the match and just listened to him. ‘Lince Dorito’ might be my favourite call of 2018 so far.

The in-ring action was exactly what we’ve come to expect from these guys- with The Luchas flying high while Kendrick and Gallagher attempted to keep them grounded. In the end, The Luchas managed to swing momentum but Drew Gulak knocked Dorado off the top rope, allowing Kendrick to lock in the captain’s hook for the submission finish.

Gulak then joined his new team-mates to celebrate as they exited the ring, and this will likely lead to a six-man tag match on next week’s show. This was a solid opener on the whole, though, having a member of the Luchas run around the outside swinging a rattle really doesn’t do them any favours. If anything, it emphasises the lack of a crowd reaction for the show in general, which is unfortunate.
