Becky Lynch Teaches Baby Face 101 + 10 Women Tag Team Match

SmackDown Live this week was book ended with the women’s division this week, starting off with Paige hosting a “Summit” with the four women who will take part in this Sunday’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The highlight of this promo for me was easily Becky Lynch. When we got to the regular part of a promo like this where everyone starts going over their accomplishments and why they’re going to win, Becky highlighted a few accomplished and followed that by saying that she’s tired of saying what she “was” and is ready on what she “is.” Becky was teaching baby face 101 here, and it was great.

The four would be interrupted by the Iconics and then Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. This led to a brawl, setting up what was originally going to be an eight women tag team match. Asuka would later talk to GM Paige, asking for a match with Carmella tonight. Paige said she can’t do that, and instead added Asuka and Carmella to the eight women tag team match, making it a ten women tag team match.

The match itself was chaotic, but not in a bad way. When you have a match like this with 10 people trying to get their stuff in, it will typically feel that way. The match was fast paced and fun, we had Charlotte’s typical spot in this sort of multi-person match where she does the moonsault to the outside of the ring taking out the Iconics. The match ended with Asuka tapping out her opponent for the Women’s Title on Sunday, Carmella. Good finish, it’s in Carmella’s character that losing isn’t really going to hurt her much and gives Asuka her moment to shine going into Sunday.

To close the show we had the 5 winners staring each other down, looking up at the Money in the Bank briefcase. This was a very good go home angle for everyone involved and genuinely made me excited to see their ladder match this Sunday.
