Cesaro

There’s no denying that Sheamus and Cesaro were one of the best tag teams of 2017. They showed natural chemistry from the very beginning of their alliance and had excellent feuds with The New Day, The Hardys, and Rollins and Ambrose. The problem is that all of this is very past tense.

The Bar were sent to Smackdown Live in the Superstar Shake-up earlier this year, and since then they’ve been pretty much nonexistent. I know that, when the time is right, they’ll be back on TV getting involved in meaningful storylines. Still, I can’t help but believe that Cesaro is capable of so much more than he’ll ever be allowed to accomplish in his current company. Unfortunately, he just doesn’t fit the superficial elements of what WWE wants in their main eventers.

I think it would be fantastic to see Cesaro show up in New Japan. They could build him up to the main event scene to mix it up with their top stars, he could fill some of the midcard workhorse void that Shibata left behind, or they could bring him on alongside Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero and have the Kings of Wrestling run wild through the tag team division. Regardless of where they put him on the card, Claudio Castagnoli would immediately be a hugely versatile, invaluable performer for the company.
