David Finlay & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Bullet Club Firing Squad (Tanga Loa & Bad Luck Fale)

Fale started the match with Finlay and it didn’t go well for Fale. Tanahashi jumped in the ring and almost locked a Texas Cloverleaf on Fale, but Loa broke it up. Tanahashi reversed a suplex attempt from Loa and hit a twist and shout. Fale tried to splash Finlay at he was covering Loa, but Finlay dodged, and he ended up squashing Loa. After a few more minutes, Loa hit a sitout inverted piledriver.

CHAOS (Gedo & Kazuchika Okada) vs. Bullet Club Elite (Chase Owens & Hangman Page)

Owens and Gedo started the match, bit it wasn’t long before Okada was in there mixing it up with Page and Owens. Page tried to roll through and hit Page with a Rite of Passage, but Okada escaped and hit a dropkick. Both men tagged out and Gedo and Owens got in there and started exchanging jabs.

Hangman Page hit both Gedo and Okada with a Buckshot Lariat. Page took Okada out on the outside of the ring, and Owens hit a package piledriver on Gedo for the pinfall.

Result: Bullet Club Elite

Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Page and Okada got into a shoving match after the match. Okada will be looking for his first singles win in a long time, and Hangman Page will be looking for his biggest win. This match is going to be a very important one going forward. NJPW knows they have a big star in Hangman Page, so will they have him beat Okada? I’m not sure. I picked Okada to win, but time will tell, as NJPW likes throwing us curveballs. NJPW can supply upsets and shocks in the G1, and Hangman beating Okada would be a major upset.
