2018 has been an up and down year for WWE. Some shows have delivered, while others have fallen short. With SummerSlam on the horizon, this is the perfect time to take a look back at the first seven PPVs of the year and see how they stack up.

7. Fastlane

It would be easy to call Backlash the worst WWE show of 2018 so far. It was definitely quite bad. However, terrible + somewhat memorable > passable but forgettable.

Fastlane is the worst WWE PPV of 2018 because it was completely and utterly meaningless. The perfect example of a “nothing” show, it lacked a single match or moment that was even remotely memorable. It did virtually nothing to advance any significant storylines and, as a result, fans probably haven’t thought about it since. Fastlane came and went and no one ever really cared at all.

The Good:

Uh, the show didn’t run over time?

The Meh:

Literally the entire show… The Bludgeon Brothers really made their presence known for the first time here, which, although it interrupted a match between New Day and The Usos that was on its way to being great, was cool I guess.

Shinsuke and Rusev had an okay match that you probably don’t remember. So did Bobby Roode and Randy Orton. Also, Ruby Riott and Charlotte competed in a mediocre filler match that went way waaayyyy too long. Finally, the main event was a funi-ish, but ultimately predictable spot fest.

The Bad:

Depending on your definition of “bad,” you may place some matches here. But just being there doesn’t make anything good or bad to me.

In conclusion… If I could travel to the past and take back the time I spent watching this pointless show, I wouldn’t. Cause wrestling is the best even when it sucks. BUT COME ON WWE. I’M NOT EVEN ASKING FOR YOUR SHOWS TO BE GOOD. JUST MAKE THEM MEAN SOMETHING.

Show Rating: 4 hours you’ll never get back/10
