2: A New Champion…. at last

Simply put, Brock Lesnar’s reign as Universal Champion must come to an end. His continued absence from television has damaged the main-event scene on Raw for too long, and too many stars are not being given the ability to ascend up the roster.

The likes of Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and many others are not being given a chance to get anywhere near the Universal Title because Lesnar’s reign has limited his challengers to all of the brand’s bigger performers.

Reigns has shown that he is more than capable of working with smaller members of the roster, and more importantly, he is willing to make them look good and put them over. Whether you like Reigns or not, he has shown over the last 18 months that he is in more than willing to eat a pinfall to benefit other performers.

With Reigns sat atop the mountain, the glass ceiling will disappear, and other superstars will finally get their chance to compete for Raw’s biggest prize.

The Universal belt has, thus far, only had four holders, and outside of Kevin Owens, it has not had a champion who has been a regular fixture on weekly television. Hopefully, with the belt around Reigns’ waist, that will finally change, and the belt will begin to feel more relevant.
