Titus Worldwide (Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews, w/ Dana Brooke) vs. Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar)
Result: Authors of Pain defeated Titus Worldwide via pinfall
Rating: 1.75 out of 5 stars
Welcome back to the hell that is a never ending cycle of rematches, where neither team definitively ends a “rivalry” and both look like a pair of chumps. That’s the sort of episode of WWE Raw I’m used to watching.
Before the match, Titus seemed surprised that Apollo and Dana were hanging out backstage chatting. I swear, if this turns into a romance angle, I’m out. I’ll start reviewing Titus Worldwide segments with analysis of random matches I find on the WWE Network instead. I won’t touch that.
But Dana claimed to have found a “weakness” in AoP’s game, so Titus was eager to put the plan in action. Sadly, the plan just seemed to anger Akam and Rezar, who looked more dominant in this match than they have since they were squashing local talent in April.
The match was basically a handicap match — Titus spent most of the match on the floor recovering from cheap shots, leaving Apollo to take the brunt of the punishment. He got a bit of offense in (his standing shooting star press is always amazing), but ultimately fell to the Last Chapter.
With any luck, that will also be the Last Chapter of this interminable feud, and AoP can do something worthwhile in the ring while Titus keeps doing good guy stuff outside it.
