MLW War Games is a suitable next helping for wrestling fans looking for content after the success of All In.

Major League Wrestling continues its push as an alternative option for professional wrestling fans. In doing so, it continues to merge some well-known with “newer” names in the industry. Tonight, MLW War Games is a big event set to broadcast on beIN Sports and in looking at the card, this is an event that hardcore and mainstream fans alike shouldn’t miss.

While there are so many interesting matches to talk about on this card, it’s always pertinent to focus on the promotion’s heavyweight title, currently carried by Low Ki. With Salina de la Renta in his corner, he’s defending his title against one-half of the MLW tag team champions, Rey Fenix in what should be a match that meshes Ki’s grappling and striking style against the Lucha Libre tactics employed by Fenix. This is the exact type of match-making that includes a name that many hardcore wrestling fans will recognize and pits them against someone who is lesser known , but equally gifted in the talent department.

Then there’s the other half of the tag team champions, Pentagon Jr, who is set to face off against long-time veteran La Park – yes, the man once known as the “Chairman of WCW,” La Parka. This match will also continue the storyline that pits Salina de la Renta against her two former clients in Pentagon and Rey Fenix – who have turned to Konnan as their corner man. La Park has shown that even as an elder statesman in wrestling, he can still go with the best of them. Pentagon Jr is coming off of a great match with Kenny Omega at All In which certainly increased his exposure to fans in wrestling. This match should deliver as one of the show stealers when MLW War Games is said and done.

Speaking of War Games, this event will also feature the two rings covered by a steel cage. Ten men will be locked into the cage and looking at the mix of talent featured in these two teams this is sure to be a pleasant, train-wreck of a match.

On one side, it’s John Hennigan, Tommy Dreamer, Shane Strickland, Kotto Brazil and Barrington Hughes. They are up against a team of Sami Callihan, Abyss, Jimmy Havoc and the Death Machines (Leon Scott and Fulton). That list of talent, plus the inclusion of two rings under a steel cage lets everyone know that this match is going to be pure carnage that can’t be missed. Dreamer and Abyss are making their promotional debut while the rest of the group includes a strong mix of recognizable talent from various other organizations.

The action will not end with these three matches as the undercard is worth the view as well. Names such as Rich Swann, Tom Lawlor, Teddy Hart, Davey Boy Smith Jr, MKF and Brian Pillman Jr are all scheduled to appear at this event. If you’re coming off of All In and looking for more professional wrestling content that isn’t within the biggest brands in the industry, giving MLW War Games a chance on Friday is a step in the right direction. If you can’t catch it on beIN Sports, then check out the organization’s YouTube channel for viewing later on in the week.
