WWE SmackDown Live: Results, Highlights, and Grades from September 18
Becky Lynch and Charlotte’s match is the ONLY match highlighted in tonight’s preview. Just so you know.
Miz TV
The Miz is in the ring ready for another Emmy-nominated episode of Miz TV. $10 says he will in fact mention the Emmys. Actually, even better – The Miz is here to announce that there will be a match between him and his arch-nemesis Daniel Bryan to decide who will be the number one contender for the WWE Championship, and the match will take place at Super Show-Down on October 6th. This is a perfect way to continue this feud – it gives it one last, strong breath of energy before we’re allowed to move on.
Maryse is the illustrious guest of tonight’s Miz TV. When you take away the heel-ish ego of this segment, it’s always very cute to see these two gush over each other. What’s not cute (at least to Brie and Daniel, I’m sure) is that Miz and Maryse are ready to discredit Daniel and Brie’s relationship.
Tonight is Maryse’s last night on SmackDown?! You mean, no more Puorquoi? Well color me disappointed in this episode already…
Miz channels all his anguish at the fact that people are booing his wife out by challenging Daniel Bryan (because obviously), and out Daniel Bryan comes, and he’s NOT happy that Miz continues to talk smack about his wife. Bryan enters the ring for a beat down well-supplied. That beat down apparently extended to Maryse though, as Maryse is down, and medical assistance has been called. Miz asks if she wants waters. Ugh, what a man.
Daniel Bryan is very clearly concerned though, but turns out Maryse is just fine. However, Daniel dodges an ambush and makes Miz hit Maryse by accident, before sending the It Couple out of the ring.
Grade: C+
An average installment of this feud. The Miz and Maryse are heat-mongers, completely, and they entertain for sure.
