The Sept. 18 edition of WWE SmackDown was a big followup to this past Sunday’s Hell In A Cell pay-per-view with a night filled with twists and turns.

The post-Hell In A Cell edition of WWE SmackDown continued the blue brand’s momentum with solid storytelling and in-ring work along with a heel turn that broke up one of the most over gimmicks in the WWE.

The blue brand continues to carry the main roster into next month’s Super Show-Down event in just under three weeks.  With that being said, let’s take a look at a few grades from the Sept. 18 edition of WWE SmackDown.

5. Miz TV

The most must-see WWE talk show in history has been a platform for The Miz’s often diluted viewpoints over the years.  That trend continued last when the post-Hell In A Cell edition of SmackDown kicked off with Miz TV.

The Miz and Maryse defeated Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella at Hell In A Cell and, needless to say, Miz and Mrs. had a lot to say about it.  The A-Lister promised the biggest guest on Miz TV to date and it turned out to be none other than his wife, Maryse.  The two were basking in their glory with both individuals saying how Bryan and Brie aren’t on their level.

Things began to really get going when Miz called out Bryan and at that point, you knew something was going down.  Bryan wasted little time going after Miz and he began attacking Miz, but after a kick to The Miz that sent The A-Lister into his wife in the corner, things looked bad for Maryse.  The Miz shrieked as medical personnel approached and Bryan was upset with the turn of events, but that wouldn’t exactly pan out in the end.

Maryse was faking it the whole time and it was nothing more than a strategic plan by The Miz to get the upper hand over Bryan.  But when Bryan realized he had been duped, he quickly countered The Miz’s attempt at a skull crushing finale and cleared the ring.  This was a very well-done segment that gave better insight on how great of a sly heel The Miz can be and how smart of a babyface Bryan can be.

These two will meet at Super Show-Down in less than three weeks for the right to gain a WWE Championship match, and that should take this feud to another level.

Final Grade: B+
