4. The Miz vs. R-Truth

It was only a couple weeks ago that R-Truth got a main event match against The Miz on an episode of SmackDown after maneuvering his way into the opportunity like only Truth can.  To top things off, Truth got the win over The Miz and his career resurgence has been great to see as of late alongside Carmella.

Truth and Carmella led Truth TV to open up last night’s show and after some shenanigans and exchanged words, a match between The Miz and R-Truth was made immediately and the two would battle it out with The A-Lister looking to get Miz TV back.  Much like their past in recent weeks, this was another solid and entertaining match between these two WWE mainstays.

It felt like Truth could get another upset win, but The Miz was able to thwart him in the end.  The ending of the match was particularly stellar when Miz sent a strong message to Daniel Bryan, who was sitting ringside on commentary.  The Miz hit Truth with a skull-crushing finale, but he wasn’t content winning with just that.  He wound up hitting Truth with Bryan’s running knee and stared a hole through Bryan at the same time.

That running knee would be the final nail in the coffin and Miz got the win over Truth.  This was a great finish and it showed more of the diversity in The Miz’s bag of tricks.  When Miz and Bryan battle at Super Show-Down, they will be competing for a chance to challenge the WWE Champion and it’s shaping up to be a very memorable battle between these bitter rivals.

But in terms of just Miz vs. Truth, it was a very solid match that was impressive for both sides and built more momentum for The A-Lister.

Final Grade: B+
