SmackDown 1000: Six Superstars Who Need To Make An Appearance

Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio’s Royal Rumble return earlier this year led to rumors running rampant regarding his future with WWE and whether he’d be interested in a comeback to the company. His second appearance at Greatest Royal Rumble in April only fueled the speculation, and in September, PWInsider reported Mysterio had officially re-signed with WWE.
At this point, it’s more a matter of when than if he will show up on WWE programming, and quite honestly, there would no better place for him to resurface than at SmackDown 1000. After all, he was an important building block for the brand in the early 2000s and spent way more time on SmackDown than he ever did on Raw.
Mysterio would be an awesome addition to an already stacked SmackDown Live roster. If WWE isn’t going to advertise him in advance and instead keep his return a surprise, it would be cool to see him mix it up with United States champion Shinsuke Nakamura or even Andrade “Cien” Almas his first night back.
