SmackDown 1000: Six Superstars Who Need To Make An Appearance

John Cena
It’s strange to say that John Cena has been persona non grata on WWE television since Greatest Royal Rumble in April, where he defeated Triple H in a special attraction match. He will be in action again this Saturday at Super Show-Down, ending his six-month hiatus away from the company (the longest period of time he has ever been away for).
It’s unknown when WWE plans to incorporate Cena back into the ongoing storylines again, but a one-off appearance at SmackDown 1000 wouldn’t hurt. Granted, he has been the face of the franchise for over a dozen years and has been largely synonymous with Raw since 2005, but let’s not forget that he got his start on SmackDown.
From his unforgettable debut against Kurt Angle to winning the WWE Championship from JBL at WrestleMania 21, Cena’s SmackDown stint helped solidify him as a star. Thus, the blue brand’s 1,000th episode celebration wouldn’t be complete without him.
